onlinerecords.us ("we", "us") runs the website at onlinerecords.us. This policy explains what we collect when you use the site, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Your email address, when you ask for a report. We use it to send a confirmation link and then the report.

The property you ask about, such as its parcel ID and address, so we can build and send the right report. Reports are built from public records and shared by parcel, so anyone who requests the same property gets the same report; your email address is never part of it.

Your marketing choice. If you tick the box to get news and offers and then confirm it, we record that you subscribed, when, and the exact wording you agreed to.

A scrambled form of your network (IP) address. We store it only as a keyed hash, which we use to limit abuse, such as one person requesting reports for many email addresses. We don't store your IP address itself with your request.

Your location, only if you allow it. If your browser shares your location, the map centers on it. Your location stays in your browser and isn't sent to us. The map images themselves load from Amazon Location Service, which, like any map service, sees which area of the map is being shown. If you click a spot on the map, we receive that spot's coordinates to look up the parcel there.

We don't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.

How we use it

We use your information to confirm your email address, build and email your report, keep the service from being abused, and, only if you subscribed, send you news and offers from onlinerecords.us.

Marketing email

We only send marketing email if you tick the optional box and confirm your subscription after verifying your email. Getting a report never requires subscribing. Every marketing email includes our postal address and a link to unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, we stop right away and keep a record of your opt-out so you aren't added again by mistake.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that run the site for us, such as Amazon Web Services, which hosts the site and sends our email, and only so they can provide that service. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Report requests, including your email address and the property you asked about, are deleted automatically after 30 days. If you subscribe, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe. After that, we keep only your address and the date you opted out, so we can honor it. Generated reports are stored by parcel for up to 14 days and don't contain your email address.

About the reports

Reports compile public records from government sources, including property owners' names and mailing addresses as published by county property appraisers. Florida law lets certain people, such as law enforcement officers and judges, keep their home address confidential; property appraisers remove that information from the public record. If you believe a report shows information that should be confidential, contact your county property appraiser and contact us.

Children

The site isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Security

We store data encrypted with access limited to the systems that need it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in any marketing email. To ask what we hold about you or to have it deleted, contact us below.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above. If a change is significant, we'll say so on the site before it takes effect.
